Wasn't that wonderful? I can no longer say I'm a federalist. I'm not a sovereignist either, but I'm getting closer. An Associationist?

I no longer have any preconditions for accepting Quebec. I accept them unconditionally. The reason I can do this is because I feel I have finally begun to understand and respect them. I do not fear them. If they need to become sovereign, well, that's okay. They will still be part of us.

When they (and we too) have finally thrown off the mantle of British arrogance, domination and conquest, they will come back to us as friends and partners.
