l'egalite ou l'independance
Messieurs,
Si vous voulez eviter l'independance du quebec, il faut creer un systeme d'egalite
politique totale entre les canadiens francais et anglais: partage du pouvoir 50-50 a
ottawa, representation 50-50 au parlement federal, malgre le plus petit nombre des
francophones. cette formule erait inclure les francophones hors du quebec aussi. le quebec
en outre devrait avoir un controle absolu sur l'immigration sur son territoire. si cette
formule est inacceptable au anglophones alors l'independance sera la seule solution.
(The following is an informal translation)
Gentlemen, if you want to avoid the independence of Quebec, we need to create a system
of total political equality between French and English Canadians, a 50-50 power sharing in
Ottawa, with a 50-50 arrangement in the federal Parliament, despite the lesser numbers of
francophones. This formula would include francophones outside Quebec as well. Further,
Quebec would have absolute control over immigration in ots own territory. If this formula
is inacceptable to anglophones, then independence is the only solution.
