My point of view
If all Canadians would realize the mistakes we have all made, then maybe
Canada could begin to reunite. However, there are many of us, English as well as French
speaking Canadians who DO NOT understand compromise. My family was raised in a bilingual
society, and I feel that Quebec's problems do not really begin with language. Many of
these people have never left their province and have been told all their lives that
"Canada" wants to exclude them. When you are told this everyday, you then begin
to believe it. They have been reminded for centuries of the battle between the French and
British , for god sakes their licence plates read "Je me Souvienne". I truly
feel the politicians are to blame, HATRED IS A DAMAGING EMOTION, and this is what they are
creating within their province. If Quebec does succeed in separating, then their problems
have only begun. We cannot consider Quebec as a "distinct Society", we have
other Canadians who are also "special" who have no special status. Some of
Quebec"s demands are outrageous and very insulting to me as a Canadian. I wonder if
they have considered THINKING, before speaking? I wonder if they really care???
